The NEXUS interview
Once, the applicant is conditionally approved by the authorities he/she should attempt to interview. The interview for the NEXUS card is a prerequisite for all candidates. It takes around 30 minutes at NEXUS enrollment center (you may choose it when you schedule the appointment). All participants are interviewed twice- once by Canadian officer and once by officers from USA.
At the interview, the agent will explain the NEXUS card rules – what is forbidden and what is allowed. In order to get a card, each applicant will be fingerprinted and photographed. If the applicant plans to use the card for air travel, he/she must have an eye scan.
The additional (supporting) documents:
- Proof of your citizenship (copy or original):
- Passport
- Citizenship Card
- Birth Certificate
- A Valid driver license
- Registration title and papers for the vehicle that you intend to use for crossing the boarder
- Poof of custody for child/children under 18 years.
- NEXUS approval letter.
DO NOT SEND ANY ORIGINAL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION!
In a period of ten days, the NEXUS card will be mail to the applicant with activation instructions. The applicant should follow the steps and activate the card online.
